INTER AMERICAN CONVENTION

The Inter American Convention on Letters Rogatory and additional protocol is another international agreement providing for the service of a respondent in a foreign country via the central authority in that country. The Inter American Convention operates somewhat slower than the Hague Convention in practice. In some instances this method is the only means to effect service in a manner that will allow for foreign enforcement of the courts orders in the signatory country.
